  • H1-B prevailing wage question

Does the employer have to maintain the H1-B employees at 100% prevailing wage year after year or just at the time of hire? TIA.

It is the minimum that needs to be paid.

Thanks. I think I framed my question wrong. For example, if I was hired for
50k in 2007 (and prevailing wage for my job at that time was 50000). What happens if I get a promotion in the same company in 2009. Does the company still have to pay me the prevailing wage for new position in 2009 or can they pay me below the prevailing wage. Thanks.

That would require the company to amend the H1b and pay the prevailing wage with a new LCA.
