Can someone please tell me how to apply for change of status from H1b to B2?? Is I 539 the form? And what are valid excuses for applying for a change of status to B2 and also for applying late(if its too late). Please reply asap. Don't have much time

---- What is meant being late. As soon as you are laid off or terminated and may be even before that you should apply for COS to B2. If you are already laid off consult an attorney to play safe
