  • Successful H1B extension from consulting company

Anyone who got successful H1b extension recently from IT consulting companies let us know your comments on the following:

    1. Client contract
    2. End client letter.

Was the above sent along with h1b ext application or only after an RFE. Are there cases when USCIS never asked for the above? Thank you.

Send them along rather than wait for an RFE.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

By IT consulting company, I meant the companies that send people to client sites on contract. The major issue is that the end client doesn't give any letters for contractors. Another issue is when someone applies for 3 year extension USCIS asks for employment proof letter from end client for 3 years but no client wants to commit for 3 years initially. End clients normally extend contract only 3 or 6 months at a time. Gurus please throw more light on this issue. Thanks.

-- even some marketing and management people also working client site or client location offices.. ok listen if you are working on client project you have to show it, dontworry your employer is different then clients.. whatever the duration of clients project its doesnt matter , you can show that after some months you will working inhouse projects with employer. that means you have to show that you will be maintain you H1B status during your stay.

Thank you for the response. I understand what you are saying. But recently there had been many cases where H1B extension thro consulting companies got denied just because they could not provide end client letter for the entire period of H1 for which extension has been requested. Please let us know your thoughts on this. Thanks.
