H1B stamping appointment question

Hello,

My H1B stamp expired on Jan 2008. I got approved I797 for H1B extension for next 3 years (01/2008-01/2011). I am going to US consulate in Mumbai in 2nd week of May for H1B visa stamping. How should I answer a question which is on VFS website:
“Are you applying for the same class of visa which is currently valid or has expired within the past 12 months?"

I am in the same boat( my H1b stamp expired in November 2007) and I am going for stamping to Mumbai in July this year.

You should select 'NO' and apply for NEW visa. Not Renewal.

Your h1b VISA is not vali and it expired more than 12 months ago. So the answer should be NO.
