H4 got H1 - in india now H4 and H1 - Urgent please help

My wife is working US on H1. I traveled to US in April 2008 on H4. I applied for my H1 there and I came back to India in June 2008.
1. My H1 got approved in December (I-797-A)(status change from H4 to H1) and I got my Visa approved in US consulate
2. Due to current market condition my h1b company is not allowing me to travel to US on H1B
My queries are
1. I would like to go for my H4 visa (as i have the letter of approval for H4 also with me)
2. After getting my H4 visa can I travel to US on H4 visa
3. After some time can I change my status back to H1B

Kindly help me out. I need to take a decision on this ASAP
