First time H1 visa stamping in Canada

Hi,
I was wondering if someone could give me advice.

I had started working on H1 visa about a year ago. Previously, I was on OPT (F1 visa).

Can I get my H1 visa stamped from Canada, this being my first trip outside the country after starting on H1B ?
I need to go to Canada for business work.

--- Couple of my friends finished their MS, went on OPT, got a job and then got their first H1B stamping done in Canada (Montreal and Vancouver). This was in 2005 and 2006. I think it is possible for you to do the same unless the rules have changed in the past 3 years.
