Marital Status on Passport for H1 B Stamping

Hi,

I got married after my H1B petition was approved. I need to get my visa stamped. Do I need to get my marriage registered and passport updated prior to the stamping or can I just show my wedding card as proof.

I had gotten my name changed as in my passport my surname had been missing. On the visa approval petition they have mentioned my name old name I have a B1 on my passport with the correct name. I sent the application again for a name change but it came back with the old name. What should I do?

You need a marriage certificate for sure to help you with your visa along with other documents.
