H1Visa Expires on Sep30th can I travel back on sep 10th

Hi,

I had H1B visa from CompanyA valid upto sep30th 2009.
I am now with Company B and I94/H1 Petition valid upto sep 2011.

I am planning to travel to India in Aug and be back in sep 10th to US.

Can I travel back? will I have any issues at the Port of entry that the visa will expire shortly?
I am planning t g t stamping in Mexico near Texas.

Please also suggest me your experiences regarding this.

You can. If you have a new I797 that has validity past that date, show it at POE and I-94 will be issued till the date of new I797.

Thank you. But I hear many statements by people that it is not advicable and some say it is ok...to come back..I am bit confused. can I get more replies on this regard
