Hi all,

Sorry to asking in wrong place. Need very urgent help.

Here is the situation, I am on H1B and my wife on H4, She is doing her MS on H4b, and she got in-state tuition first 2 semesters. All off sudden this semester they are asking us proof that H1b allow getting permanent residence in US. I goggled it I didn’t see any proper document saying H1b allow getting permanent residence. Is there any document online saying H1b allow getting permanent residence?? We need this very urgent.

No, H1b does not allow permanent residence. It is a temporary work visa.

what about if the employer sponsor the green card?

If you have GC, you are a PR. Just sponsoring doesn't mean much unless you have the GC in your hand.

-- H1B have dual intent, if your employer sponsor your GC and you get GC on your hand then its PR for you. otherwise you are Temporary non-immigrant worker on H1B.
