Immigration at Cruise Port of Entry ?

Hello Experts,

I need your help. I am currently on H1b Visas in USA & I plant to take a 7 night cruise trip to Easter Caribbean Islands from Ft. Lauderdale. I need your expert advice, will I have to give away my I-94 at the immigration counter before boarding the ship and will be provided with a new I-94 when I return back from cruise and enter through Ft. Lauderdale port ?
Other question is, is it advisable to take the cruise during the time when my employer has put an application for H1b Extension?
Does anybody have any Idea what documents i would need to carry with me while boarding the Cruise ?

I am an Indian Citizen with an Indian Passport. I do not have a US Green Card.

Any help in this regards will be greatly appreciated.

-- No probs, you can travel via Road, AIR , sea..... Same docs requiered which is needed at airport, you can enter by cruise via Sea POE(any port), hint for docs, your passport with valid visa stamp, I94 , I797 original etc...
