Canadian Greencard for working in US

Hi,

I am currently in H1b visa. I have used only 1 year of my H1b so far. Due to bad economy and other reasons, my company is reluctant to proceed my labor petition filing. I am thinking of initiating my Canadian green card. Does any one know whether I can continue working in US with Canadian Green card even after my H1b visa expires. Also how easy to get Canadian Green card.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. As I understand, getting Canadian PR is not sufficient for me to continue working in US.
If it is possible with Canadian citizenship, can I continue working with my current US employer in H1b and apply for Canadian green card and followed by Canadian citizenship application process.
Also how long the whole process takes. What are the requirements to start a Canadian green card / citizenship process.
