H1 travel, transfer

1. My hubby and I have H1 visa stamped on our passports valid till 2011. My hubby will be traveling to the US soon. I am currently in India. If I can get a long leave from my company, can I travel to the US with the valid H1 that I have or should I be applying for any other visa (visitor or dependent)?

2.If I can travel to US on H1 on leave, can I look for jobs in the US and get my H1 transferred once I land a job there?

You need to have a job in order to travel on H1. The employer who sponsored it must make sure that you have a job.
As is clear from your case, get an H4 and travel there. Does you husband have a job? He will need a current job offer/continuation letter.
