  • Back to L1 from H1

    Dear Senior Members,

Recently I changed my Visa status from L1 to H1 by changing the company. The new company promised me to apply for my green card also but they are not doing so.
Now I decided to go back to my previous employer as they are still offering me post.
Do i need to apply for separate L1 visa or my previous L1 visa is still valid?
It been 2 months since I joined the new company.

    Please respond..

    Thanks

    Neeraj

Visa is only for entering into U.S. Once you are inside the country, it is the status and the I-94 the counts. Since you are in H1B status now, you need to get it changed to L1 to work for the L1 employer. The easy way to get back to your L1 status is by leaving the country and re-entering using your L1 visa stamp (provided the L1 visa is still valid).

Thank you so much for your valuable suggestions.
My L1 visa is valid till mar 2010.
So I need not apply for fresh L1.

No need for a new visa. Just leave the country and return in L1 before you start working for the L1 employer.
