Teaching Assitantships on H4?

Hi,
I would like to know if I could accept a Teaching Assitantship offer holding an H4-type visa. Would I need to switch to an F1?

RA/TA require you to get paid and H4 cannot do any work. You have to move to F1 status. Only scholarship and fee waiver can be accepted on H4 for which there is no requirement to perform any work.
