H1B renewal stamping But Passport expires
Sub: H1B Visa Restamping
I'm currently in US on H1B visa. My first term of H1B visa expired on Oct 1, 2004. I've received approval for an extension till May 2007. I'm going to US embassy in Toronto to revalidate the H1B stamp. However, my current passport is valid till Dec 25, 2005. Indian embassy does not renew passports that are not due for renewal for less than a year. In this case can I still get my new H1B stamped on current passport? I need new H1B stamped immediately as my job requires frequent travel outside US.
