Question on H1B

Dear All,

My college is going to stop working for the US company who has sponsored for his whole family due to some unexpected reasons and they will be back to their hometown. The questions are:

1. What are the necessary steps/governmental offices such as USCIS, IRS, SSA, etc... that he should do/approach to inform his updated status ?

2. Does he need to obtain any documents from the employer ?

It is highly appreciated if anyone can give some advice.

1. If (s)he is leaving US, nothing to be done. If plans for H1 transfer, (s)he can find another employer and apply for H1 transfer.

2. Copy/original H1 approval notice (I-797) is needed.

Thank you for the reply. In that case, is there any problem for next visit to the States under other visa status eg. B1/B2 ?
