H1-B Petition - Do I need an attorney?

My company is interested in sponsoring my H1b. Is it necessary to hire an immigration attorney? Or can we file the petition on our own?

It is always better to file it with a immigration attorney. If something goes wrong, they would know how to contact the USCIS and proceed further. However, if you have all the required documents (both from you and your company) and know how to fill form I-129, then you and your employer can file the petition without a lawyer. H1 filing fees must be paid by the employer.
