Passport Validity required for H1 or any other Visa.

How long your Passport should be valid at the time of H1B stamping.
I have H1B renewal which is valid till May 2012 and i have interview for H1B stamping in US consulate in Toronto Canada in Feb 1st week. I intend to come back to US as soon as my visa is stamped. My Passport is expiring in Sep 24 2010 about seven month after my interview date. If i go for stamping will they reject it and ask me to get new passort or stamp it for 7 months until my visa expire or can they give it for validity of H1B in May 2012 and i can later on attach the old passport with my new one once i get it renewed late in year.

No issues. You will get visa until petition expiry.
If you have time, you can also apply for new passport and go for stamping.
B'coz sometimes, at PoE, you might get I-94 until passport expiry date.

Well, it actualy depends on the VO. Some VO will issue you a visa only till the passport expiry date. Also, there are chances that you might get an I-94 only till the passport expiry at the POE. Passport renewal in U.S is easy. It take approximately 20-25 days.
