H1 for FY-2006

I have a question regarding H1B visa stamping. As we are aware that H1B quota for FY-2005 is reached. I am planning to apply for H1B for FY-2006 which can be done after April 1st,2005. If I get my H1B approval some time in May, 2005 with effective date October 1st, 2005 . Can I attend the visa interview(in india) in May,2005. Since it is four months ahead of effective H1B date, are there any chances of objecting to attend the interview.

I dont think you can attend the interview unless you receive your H1b Approval which would be in Oct 2005.

I came across some people stamped FY2005 visas in July 2004 which are effective from Oct2004.

so an applicant can't be in US until October 1, 2005?
