How long can I stay in US?

I was working in the US on H1 for 2 years then my company moved me to L1 and i worked for 1 more year on my L1. Then I moved to India and my L1 is still valid upto dec 2010. I havent been to US for about 14-15 months. No I will be going back to US on my L1. For how many years more can I stay in US? Could that be extended and how?

Since you were away from US for an year, you are elligible to start a fresh term which is 5 years on L1B and 7 for L1A (provided you take an extension once your current visa expires).
