  • Fingerprinting at Consulate in Mumbai

    Hi,

I was on F1 visa and now I've H1 approval to work in US for company A. Recently I found job with company B and my H1 visa transfer is in process.
I have not received the approval yet. I wish to travel to India.I will have to go for H1 stamping as I do not have H1 visa stamp in my passport.

Are they still taking fingerprints before issuing visa?
How long does it take to get an appoinment after reaching India. I cannot take online appointment now as I do not have new I-797 approval for company B.

    Your advice will be appreciated.

      Hello,

The normal fingerprinting done at consulate takes 2 minutes .There is also a security check and in that they take fingerprints on hard copy . This secuity check is done on random basis and this one takes lot of time for clearance - may be 60 days. But the latter one is on random basis so hope u r not part of that.
Don't worry about normal fingerprinting which is pretty fast .
