Unused H1B transfer

Hi,

1. I have a H1B visa valid till May 31, 2010. Till date I have not travelled to US on this or any other visa. Also, immediate travel looks difficult. Can I look for an employer and have my H1B transferred so as to travel and work for him after May 31, 2010.

2. Also, the passport on which h1B is stamped expires on March 30, 2010. Once I get a fresh(renewed) passport, will the H1b visa on the old passport become invalid/expire? Will I not be able to use my H1B which is valid till May 31,2010?

You can try that option. But without the project no one will be ready to sponser h1b now a days. But still try to find someone.

Passport doesn't matters. With new passport, the old visa will be still valid.

Unused H1B Extension

Hi All,

Mine is similar case. My second H1B visa got approved on 10/1/2008 and was valid till 9/30/2011 . But now I have changed employer. Can I still reuse 2nd H1B visa which was unstamped with this new employer ? Please let me know.

H1B CAP is valid only for 6 years. A petition approved last on 2008 would no longer be valid now.
