Register indian religious marriage in USA

Me and my wife are both on H1 and we got married in India last year. Due to lack of time, we were not able to register our marriage. Now, my wife risks losing her status and we need to file H4 for her. The problem is that we only have religious certificate from India as proof of wedding. We do not have marriage certificate from government of India. What are our options here?

1) Can we get a marriage certificate by providing religions certificate from India to consulate?
2) Should we just get remarried in USA and register that marriage instead? Any links on how this process work?

Here are your options..

1) Go to India and get your marriage certified and come back.
2) You can register your marriage here in US in any of courts, you will need to follow the nearby court website for details.
