H-1 I-797 Petition valid only for 3 months

I am currently working in L-1 visa , i applied for H-1 last April 09 , i got approved only for 3 months from Oct -09 to Jan -2010.

I didn't notice it initially ,so forgot to extend it , is there any way to extend it ..and utilize that H1.

Note that the poster is currently on L1 visa and working on L1. If so, the expired H1b can be extended as long as the L1+H1b max period of 6 years is not exhausted.

If a COS is filed, the poster will have to quit L1 and work on H1b as soon as it is approved.
