Divorce of wife on H4 status in USA

Hi,

I am in USA on a H4 status visa, i am married for about 15 yrs and have two daughters, my relations with my husband are not working out well, he is always threatning me of throwing me out of the house or sending me back alone to india, he has also hurt me many times, and i feel i m suffering alot mentally coz of his behaviour. Hw do i get divorced?
Is it possible to get divorced in USA, and wht happens with the chldrn as they are also on H4. Do they get to stay with the father or mother.

Once you break marriage, you've to leave US, as you're not a dependent any more.
So in a court of your home country, you can apply for divorce.
