Currently I am working on L1B visa with employer 'X' and the visa is up for extension in Nov 2020. My spouse is currently working on L2 EAD. I got H1B approved for Consular processing with the same employer 'X'. The approval is till July 2022. I plan not to get my status changed to H1B until my spouse gets her H1B because I don't want her to loose her employment authorization.
In case my spouse does not get her H1B in 2020, I wish to extend my L1B visa and not change my status to H1B. Is this allowed? If yes will my H1B approval still be valid? If L1B extension is not allowed in such cases, can I get my H1B approval revoked and then go for L1B visa extension?
