  • Travel to India after getting H1 B approval (H4 to H1 B)

    Hi,
Got my H1 B approved last week. Is it mandatory to travel to India to get visa stamping done, in order to be able to work from 1st October 2019? My EAD ends on 30 Sept 2019. My H4 and H4 EAD extensions are still being processed by USCIS. Thank you.

    Hi,
If you would have filed the H1B petition with change of status then your H1B status would have started from Oct 01 onwards. You dont compulsory required to go for visa stamping unless you have any travel plan. On another hand, if petition got approved with consular processing then you will need to go for stamping, in order to change the status from H4 to H1B.
    Thanks
