Hello,
I am planning to travel to India on 30th October and my I797 would be valid for only 4 months since then. I need to go for Visa stamping too. My company is now preparing to file for an extension but it will take another 4-6 weeks to prepare and file. Then once I get approval for the new I797 , would need to fill the info in DS-160 and then take appointment based on that. My problem is, I am returning from India in December and there is a long wait for taking Appointments in Delhi Consulates(I checked other consulates too and all are same).
So my question is:
1) Can I take visa appointment with my current I797 only, and is there a possibility to edit DS-160 later on(with my new I797 info after I get the approval), after taking the Visa appointment?
2) If there is no option to edit DS-160 later on, then can I only fill DS-160 with only old I797 and take new I797 to the VISA interview only(With filling new I797 info in DS160)?
3) Is there any other option?
