What if H1B transfer denied after quitting the job from the previous employer

Hi,
I quit my job on H1B. i am on the 60 day grace period. Now i found a h1b sponsor, but they are doing the transfer in regular processing and not premium. What if my transfer gets denied. I wont be able to go back to my previous employer?? Also in that situation should i leave out of country and then find another sponsor and come back?? what is the exact procedure in that situation??
