H1B employment gap

I just got a new job and once the H1B transfer is approved, I plan on going to India and get my visa stamped. I'm thinking of dong this before I start my new job. So, basically I might have a month's gap between 2 jobs. Is it legally fine? Will I be out of status? What if my employer asks me to leave on the day that I give my resignation notice and I've the flight to India scheduled 2 weeks later? Please help.

You're out of status the minute you cease to be employed by your approved employer. However, you've got 60 days grace to leave or get onboard in another job before anything bad happens.

Hi flyingron! Thanks for responding. So, if my current employer asks me to leave immediately and I stay in US for 15 days, then 15 days get deducted from those 60 days, right?,
