  • H1 restamping from Canada..Please reply

    Hi,

My H1B VISA (and I-94) expires on Jan 15, 2005. We are in the process of getting it (and the associated H4) extended for another 3 years. Has anyone had experience in getting the VISA re-stamped from Vancouver, Canada? Is it legally possible, and if so, can anyone explain the process and the major risks. My VISA was originally issued from Mumbai.
Please answer the question if somebody knows about this law.
    Thanks
    Hitsr

    H1 restamping from Canada

I got mine stamped with no issues. Make an appointment on the site for US consulate in vancouver.
Can we talk about risk here?
Your visa and i94 is expiring in Jan mid. If you do not go now, u'll be out of status in 30 days!!!
Better make it quick because there is a wait time of 3-4 weeks to get an appointment. Before you go to canada, u'll need a a canadian visa. Just go to LA and get it stamped. You can also send it by mail but looking at the time constraint, my suggestion would be to go in person.
