Hi,
I came to the US on h1b visa in 2015. In 2018 my passport got expired so I exchanged old passport with my expired H1B visa for a new one. So I don't have the visa itself any longer.
In 2019 I was able to renew driver license without visa (with pending h1b extension) at Ohio BMV (Cincinnati). The lady was proactive called their hotline to clarify. They accepted my docs, it went through the SAVE system and i got my licence. I got it for 1 year only because my h1b extension was pending.
But now in 2020 when i have approved I797 with up to 9/21, they refuse to take my documents. Same at Ohio BMV (Cincinnati). They even called their hotline again and were told visa is needed. Again, all other documents proving im legal are fine. Talked to supervisor as well. I'm not sure what I'm missing here.
