H4 extension - travel

Hi,

I have a valid H4 visa till September4 2010. My husband's company has filed for his H1 and my H4 extension. Can I travel to India when my extension is filed and come back before August 1?

Not advisable to travel when the extension is filed. The extension of stay might get denied if you travel outside the country. If it gets approved, then you will have two I-94 (one that will come with the extension and one from your return back into U.S which will cause issues). Read about the last action rule in immihelp, in case you had to travel that will explain which I-94 will take precedence just in case the extension goes through.
