H4 EAD and SSN

Hello,

Hope everyone is staying safe.

We applied for H4 EAD for my wife and in the application we had also requested for SSN as well. We received the EAD card about 3 weeks ago, but have not got the SSN yet. Because of the current situation with COVID-19, all the Social Security offices are closed and we are not able to contact them to track the status. Just wanted to check if there is anyone else out there who got the EAD card but not the SSN.

Also if anyone can share their experience on how long it took to get SSN when applied along with EAD application, that will be great. The website says it takes about 10-14 business days and in our case it is past that.

Any pointers greatly appreciated.

Hi,
As you mentioned, many beneficiary got their SSN bit last last year. One of my friend also had similar experience. She got SSN after one and half month. That also happened when she contacts the concern department.
Hope for now, you would have received SSN card.
