Unemployment on H4 EAD

Hi All,

I am on H4 EAD valid until 2022 with my spouse on H1B with an approved I-140. My employer just informed me that I am furloughed and advised me to apply for Unemployment after I have exhausted my PTO. My spouse has his job and it's just me who would need the UI. Unemployment Insurance is not considered a public charge so are there any disadvantages from our future GC approval or Citizenship if I applied for Unemployment? Btw, I reside in the state of Virginia.
