Change of Status from L1B to H4 Visa

I am working in H1B Visa (Company A) and My wife is working in L1B Visa (Company B). She wants to change her status to H4 as my dependent.
Currently her visa got expired but I-94 valid till next year. Is it possible to do change of status in this case.

If yes, How long the process takes and when should she stop work.

Yes. She can change her status to H4. I would suggest to stop working once she files the petition. More over, It also depends the date you are requesting for change of status.
