Got RFE on my change of status application

Since my H1B visa got exhausted with full 6 years tenure last October ,I had applied B2 visa(pending now) to continue my stay as my PERM was in progress in that time. Now I got approval for PERM and i140 but I got RFE for my extension.They are looking for evidence which should show the valid immigration status when i applied the extension . My question is that since we don't have any control over the B2 visa process how come we provide the evidence of approved B2 visa.Can anyone assist on this?

I am not sure about full RFE details. But with the help of your question what my understanding is, they have asked valid status at the time of B2 change of status application filing. I hope you might have H1B status at the time of change of status petition.
Please share your experience on this case too.
