H1B traveling with during pandemic

Hi,
My wife and I are both on a H1B visa. We have a 9 month old son who is an American citizen. We need to travel back to Ireland next month but we are worried about getting back into the US due to the current restrictions. The current law does state that the parent of an American citizen, who is unmarried and under 21, can return to the US but we are worried they may only allow one of us to re-enter. Has anyone had any experience of this situation?
