H1 and H4 Visa stamping in India

Hello everyone,

Thank you first of all for helping in advance.
Recently my visa got converted to H1b from F1-Visa on 1st Oct-2020. My wife's H4 visa was applied at the same time but looking at the status and talking to the lawyer seems like it would take another year for the H4 visa to arrive. I'm planning to travel to India to get my H1 visa stamped and apply fresh H4 visa similar to how we file a visitor visa and get them stamped for my wife.

Here's my question so,

Is it possible to do so?
Is it a risky move?
Can my wife and I both go to the same appointment?
Should we file 2 separate DS160 or it should be 1?

Hi,
1. Yes. This is possible.. But, as soon as you get H4 Visa stamp approval, you will need to withdraw H4 petition that is pending..

3. Yes. If you get slot, you can do
4. Yes.. You will need to file two separate DS 160 and make Visa fees for H1B and H4.
