H4 visa extension and driving license

hi,

I m on H4 visa and my husband is on H1 visa which is about to expire in Oct,10. We have already filed for H1b extension..its almost 8 weeks but still in the process.
My driving license is also expiring in Oct,2010 on the current visa date.

Now Is there any way to get my license renewed or date of license extended till my extension paper arrives??

Is the current driving license will be valid if my I-797 is under process and status is pending??
Could anyone know this issue..and about visa extension is pending and license getting expired (

---- If you give DMV a copy of the receipt notice for H4, they will extend the driving licence for 3 months, hoping by that time you receive your H4 extension

---- Your H4 also needs to be extended if it is nearing expiry. Extension of H1 does not automatically extend your H4

>>> That's right. The DMV rules are different for different states. You should check with your local DMV.

>>> You can stay until your get a decision from USCIS. However, if the extension of stay is denied, then the time spent in U.S past your current I-94 expiry date will be considered illegal. Also, you will have to leave the country immediately to avoid accumulating more illagal stay. If the extension is approved, then you have no issues.
