Expired H1b VISA and renewal

Hi,

I had a 3 year valid visa few years ago from employer X, I did not travel on that visa and the 3 year period got over. Now for another employer Y I want to apply for H1b.
1. Do I need to go through lottery and all qualification process?
2. Usually people get 3+3 years on h1b will I be able to reclaim all 6 years on new visa?

Please see my response below.
1. Do I need to go through lottery and all qualification process?
Answer: No.. Not required.. You can file New H1B petition and it will not come under H1B CAP lottery. But, Need to see when you got Approved, when it got over. With this, Immigration lawyer will prepare the petition..
2. Usually people get 3+3 years on h1b will I be able to reclaim all 6 years on new visa?
Answer: Yes.. Since you did not use H1B, you will have full of six years.
