Change of status L2 to H4

Hi ,

I had an L1 visa earlier and it’s extension got RFE so we have applied for change of stay to H1 and now is approved.
Similarly we have applied for L2 extension initially and now due L1 extension RFE we have applied for change of status to H4 and still waiting for the results. Currently we all are in US .

Now does that 240 days rule applied for my dependents? Original L1/L2 visa was valid till Oct 2020 and L1/L2 extension was applied ahead of expiration . We got Rfe in March 2021 for L1 extension and later H1 Chang of status approved in April 2021. Now that 240 day grace period start from Oct 2020 or April 2021 when change of status filed ?

Hi,
Just want to make sure, Did you file H4 along with H1B or you filed H4 after H1B got Approved? If you filed H1B and H4 together then you will need to check case processing time. If that is beyond filing date, then Please raise a service request.
And 240 days will not be applicable for dependents.
