H4 while H1 extn under process

Hi,

My employer intend to apply for H1B extension as my current H1B visa expires on Sept 28 2010. Can my wife apply for H4 while my H1B extension is underway?

I assume you are talking about H4 visa application at a consulate.
She can apply based on your current petition, but it is better to apply after extension approval in order to get a longer duration.
