How H1B employee get paid severance package

If H1B employee is offered 1year of pay as severance package as part of layoff, is it ok to receive the pay check after leaving the company?

if employee accept the severance package, employee gets terminated from the company immediately but the severance will be paid in biweekly pay periods until 2022 September.
