  • H4 kid traveling with H1 parent - DS160 question

Context: My daughter is applying for an H4 visa under my wife's H1 visa. Due to the current visa appointment availability in India, we had a split interview cycle. My wife's visa is in process and I am filling up the DS-160 for my daughter. They both are in India while I am here in the US.

Question: One of the questions in the DS-160 is: "Is your mother in the US?" How should we approach this question? Technically, at this point in time, my applicant's mother is in India with her. They both are going to travel together, which has been marked in the DS-160 as well. Should we say "NO" to this question? Or should we mark "YES" to this question?

    Thanks.
