Joining new employer from outside US

Hi,

Can someone join a new employer from outside US?

H1B transfer with the new employer was approved while I was still in the US. I had to travel outside for an emergency before I could join my new company. My I94 and Visa Stamps are valid. I also have my 797 with me. Now I want to start working for the new employer from outside US and employer is ok with it.

Appreciate any inputs, if anyone was in a similar situation.
