  • F1 to H1

    Hi All:

I am on F1 studying masters (second semester), and i found a job and the employer wants to file for H1B based on my Bachelors Degree.

I really want to take that offer.. my question is what if my H1 gets rejected . will i be still on F1 ,or would it make me out of status .. please let me know.
    I am confused

    Thanks

You will continue to be on F1 provided you maintain the course load etc. If the COS is approved, you will not be on F1 on the day of approval and should stop working on campus, any TA/RA or anything to do with F1. You can continue and complete the course but must begin working on H1 and get paid from the day of the COS.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
