  • H-1B Visa approved --Question about PIMS at KCC

    Hello,

My H-1B visa got approved last week and I have the approval notice with me.
It was filed in Regular Processing earlier. I got an RFE and my Employers/Attorney actioned on it and send the documents to USCIS.This time the petition was upgraded to Premium Processing.

Though my H-1B is approved and I received the approval notice, the status online shows the below. (Cut/Paste a few lines below)

    Request for Evidence Response Review

I plan to go to India for stamping sometime in March-April 2011.I got to know that it would be better to keep a gap of 2-3 months between approval and stamping so that the details are updated by USCIS in PIMS at KCC.

    My questions are:
1)How would I come to know that the details have been updated in PIMS at KCC? How do I keep a track of this?
    2) Would the delay in updating the case status in USCIS website online have any effect in updating the details in PIMS at KCC?

I did read a few blogs online about PIMS at KCC. But am not so clear with it.
I just want make sure that I dont face any problems while stamping in India.Hence these questions.Would really appreciate if anyone clarifies my questions.

1)How would I come to know that the details have been updated in PIMS at KCC? How do I keep a track of this?
    >>> You cannot. The only option is to send an email to the consulate where you will be attending the interview. Sometimes they check the PIMS system and will let you know and most of the times they won't.

    2) Would the delay in updating the case status in USCIS website online have any effect in updating the details in PIMS at KCC?
    >>> No. USCIS case tracking website has nothing to do with PIMS.
Not a legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.

      Thanks Shervin for the response.

Is it necessary or recommended to keep a gap of 2-3 months between H-1B visa approval and stamping?
