Hello All
I had my Visa Interview on Dec 17 in Mumbai Consulate.
Just Wanted to share my experience with all. Hope it is helpful to everyone.
On the day of the interview the interviewer was very professional.
She asked the following questions.
What do you work as for your company ?
Do you work on Site or with a client ?
Who is your client ?
How long have you been on H1 ?
What is your maximum educational qualification ?
Can I see your last two pay stubbs ?
After I showed her the pay stubbs she just removed the Blue 221g form and ticked all the documents that are listed in for personal and my company documents.
It took me a week to collect all the documents from my employer.
Then I went with all the documents on Dec 30th.
Waited all day to meet the same Interviewer.
She just collected all the documents and said that they would let me know as soon as she is done with reviewing the documents.
I asked her how long will it take. She said she has 10 cases to review before she gets to mine.
Fortunately for me the next day was the last wednesday of the month.
US consulate in mumbai is closed for administrative processing.
I received an email on wednesday itself to come visit the consulate with my passport.
Thursday I went to consulate and she told me that apparently I dont work for a good company in US. But it isnt bad enough to revoke my h1.
I almost freaked out at that moment.
Then she said that your visa is approved. You will recieve your passport in some days.
It ended well for me and there are many such cases where it ends well if you have the right documents.
Mostly no one posts their experiences once they get their visas approved.
All the documents listed in immihelp is a must carry if you are working for an IT company and working on client side.
Immihelp has been of great help with all the information available out here.
Dont be disheartened by all the negative cases listed in the forums.
A thing to note is that very few post their positive experience.
Good Luck all
Have a great 2011.
Have a positive frame of mind.
