Received Wifes I797 at residence address

Hello Friends,

I'm a postdoc and the university applied for H1 and the website shows both H1 and H4 approved.

My wife received her I797 at our residence but I have not yet received my I797. I would like to know if my I797 will be sent to my University or will it be sent to my address.

I am asking this as even the university has not yet received it. I just wanted to make sure in case its not lost in mail.

It will be mailed to your lawyer (employer) who filed the H1B petition. Don't expect the H1B approval and H4 approved to reach you at the same time. They are posted separately and sometimes it takes a bit of time.

H4 approval is for the application to change status filed by your wife.
H1 approval is for petition for non-immigrant worker filed by your employer.
